About the winery
Adega Catro Ferrados is in the parish of Puga, in Toén, in the heart of Ribeiro and within its designation of origin. The winery occupies an old family house with winemaking activity dating back to the nineteenth century and is run by the grower José Varela Aguado. It draws on four vineyards in the parish itself, around two hectares in all, planted only with white varieties. From them comes a single wine, Catro Ferrados, a limited-edition signature white based on Treixadura, with some Godello and a touch of Loureira that gives it a very fruity profile. The name recalls the ferrado, an old Galician farming measure that began as a measure of volume and ended up being used to measure the size of plots.
