Adega Viña Almirante

About the winery

Viña Almirante is in A Peroxa, in Portas, right in the Val do Salnés and within the Rías Baixas D.O. It was born in 2000 as the dream of a group of growers and today brings together some eighty members and families, who farm 45 hectares of vineyards spread across the area. They draw inspiration from the history of Portas, linked to Cistercian monks and the origins of Albariño, and from the geographer Domingo Fontán, born in the area. Their benchmark wine is the Viña Almirante Albariño, late-harvested and cold-macerated, and the range includes a Caíño Blanco from the La Capellanía de San Juan plot and labels such as Pionero, Maccerato, Vanidade, Mar Adentro, Paixón and Vicius. They also welcome visitors at the winery.
