Adegas Chan de Vide

◍ Pontevedra

About the winery

Chan de Vide is a winery in Arbo, on the banks of the Miño, in the Condado do Tea subzone of the D.O. Rías Baixas. It describes its wine as a border Albariño, just like its land: between Galicia and Portugal, between the Atlantic and the river, between fields and streams. They work the vineyard in the traditional way, aiming to respect the surroundings and leave them unchanged. In this inland part of the appellation the climate is somewhat warmer and drier than on the coast, which encourages a balanced ripening of the grapes. Its range centres on 100% Albariño: Aravo, the house's most awarded wine; Vran_Cø; Rula Feiticeira, an easy-going style; and Eterna Juventud. It also makes Deitado, an Atlantic red from native varieties.
