Antonio Abalo Méndez is the driving force behind this family winery, which farms its own vineyard of just two hectares, home to century-old vines of the emblematic grape of the Rías Baixas, Albariño. It is no accident that this grower calls himself an “Albariño artisan”: by selecting the best grapes from his estate and combining elements of traditional viticulture with the criteria of modern oenology, Abalo Méndez manages to make a white of distinctive character and rare sophistication, which gains greatly during its ageing in bottle.
