About the winery
Ángel Sequeiros is a winery in Salvaterra de Miño, in the Condado do Tea, within the Rías Baixas D.O. It bears the name of a farmer born in 1920 in the parish of Cabreira who, after the war and years as an emigrant in Brazil, returned to Galicia and bought Quinta Gaviñeira, a manor estate with Albariño planted in the 1920s, which he expanded to its current 7.4 hectares. In 2009 his youngest son, Clemente, created the winery in his honour. They make age-worthy Albariños: Foudre, which revives the style of Albariños from before stainless steel, Lías, focused on the fruit and freshness of the grape, and Quinta Gaviñeira, a blend of the two.
