About the winery
More than 60 years ago, the union and friendship of two families laid the foundations of what years later would become Crego e Monaguillo. At that time Monterrei wines, with a strong winegrowing tradition, did not enjoy the prestige or recognition they have today. They were destined for home consumption and, where applicable, the sale of surpluses in bulk. Ernesto Atanes (senior) and Manuel Rodríguez, simply friends, were in a way the ones who laid the foundations of what years later would be Crego e Monaguillo.
