About the winery
Eguzkialde Txakolina is a small family winery in Lezama, Bizkaia, that makes txakoli by hand within the Bizkaiko Txakolina D.O. It works a single hectare of vineyard on a south-facing slope sheltered from the north winds, so that the grapes get as much sun as possible while ripening. The vines are closely monitored and the best bunches are chosen to achieve a txakoli true to tradition, with fruity and herbal aromas and a fresh, balanced palate. The winery is part of the tradition of the Biscayan farmhouses that drove the revival of txakoli and the birth of the appellation in 1994.
