About the winery
At the westernmost end of the Atlantic Celtic corridor, in Galicia, José Chaves Chaves founded the Chaves winery in 1955, giving his wines the same name. From parents to children, continuity was guaranteed, and the generational handover drove the original dream, bringing vigour and drive to an increasingly stimulating and dynamic project. In 1986, our winery was one of the first to sell wines under the «Vinos de la tierra» designation, guaranteeing the origin of Salnés Albariño.
