Bodegas Cunqueiro

About the winery

Bodegas Cunqueiro is a family winery in Castrelo de Miño, in the D.O. Ribeiro. Its story begins in the 1920s with Severino Fernández, known as O Cunqueiro, who made wine for the taverns of Ourense; in the 1980s his sons Cesáreo and Benigno modernised the winery, and today it is run by the third generation. They farm around ten hectares in widely scattered plots, between 125 and 400 metres above sea level, with Treixadura, Godello, Torrontés, Albariño and Loureira for whites and Mencía, Sousón, Brancellao, Caíño and Ferrol for reds. Their wines include Cunqueiro III Milenium, El Primero, Máis de Cunqueiro Torrontés and Godello, Cuqueira, Camiño dos Faros and Casal do Vila. They offer a winery visit and a walking route through the vineyards, both with a tasting and snacks.
