About the winery
Bodegas del Muni is in Villatobas, in the province of Toledo, on the La Mancha plain. It was founded in 2000, when the Perea Contreras family decided to bottle their own wines from the grapes of their vineyards, putting quality ahead of quantity. The name recalls an ancestor who fought in the battle of the Muni River, in Equatorial Guinea. Its range includes the Perea Navarro tempranillo and airén, the Sara, Blanca and Lucía Selección wines, a roble, a rosé, 60 Barricas, a vendimia seleccionada and a late-harvest wine. There are several ways to get to know it: a tasting of two of its wines with a winery visit, a food-pairing tasting designed for beginners, and another that tours the winery and vineyards and ends at Finca El Muni.
