Bodegas Garvey

About the winery

Bodegas Garvey is one of the historic houses of Jerez de la Frontera, within the Jerez-Xérès-Sherry D.O. It dates back to 1780, when the Irishman William Garvey, who arrived in the Bay of Cádiz almost by accident and survived a storm, decided to stay and try his luck in the wine trade. Since 2017 it has been part of the Emperador Distillers group, which bought the San Patricio winery complex along with its brands. It makes its wines with the traditional criaderas and solera system, true to the house's formulas, with a range that goes from fino to oloroso, as well as manzanilla, vermouth and liqueurs such as Calisay.
