About the winery

Bodegas Gutiérrez de la Vega is a family winery in Parcent, in Alicante's Marina Alta. Felipe and Pilar arrived in Xàbia in the 1970s to revive the vineyards of her family, who had lived from Moscatel raisins, and learnt the trade from Tío Raimundo; in 1982 they moved to an old olive mill in Parcent. They pioneered dry Moscatel and are known for their naturally sweet Moscatel de Alejandría wines, such as Casta Diva. Since Violeta Gutiérrez de la Vega joined, they have also focused on Giró, separating the wines by soil type. Other labels include Tío Raimundo, Viña Ulises, Rojo y Negro and Imagine. The guided visit covers the winemaking room, the underground barrel cellar and a cloister, with a tasting selected by Felipe.
