About the winery
Bodegas Rodeno is a family winery in the hamlet of Hortunas, in Requena, within the D.O. Utiel-Requena. Its estate, Los Rodenos, combines certified organic vineyards with a large area of pine forest and native scrub, at around 600 metres above sea level near the river Magro, on sandy dry-farmed soils. They grow Bobal and Tempranillo for reds, and Macabeo, Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc for whites. Grapes are hand-picked into small crates, fermented with native yeasts, and the reds are aged in French oak barrels. Their wines include Rodeno Tinto, Rodeno Blanco made from Macabeo on its lees and whites from Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc, and a Cava Brut Nature is on the way. They offer visits to the winery and vineyard with a tasting.
