About the winery
Terras Gauda is in O Rosal, in southern Pontevedra, very close to the mouth of the Miño and the Portuguese border, within the D.O. Rías Baixas. Its vineyards climb old river terraces over a strip of slate, something unusual in an area dominated by granite. They work only Galician varieties, above all Albariño, Caíño Blanco and Loureiro, which are hand-picked and vinified separately before blending, and fermented with their own yeast isolated from their vineyards. The result is Terras Gauda, Abadía de San Campio, La Mar and Etiqueta Negra. The winery heads a group with projects in Bierzo, Ribera del Duero and Rioja, and welcomes visitors for tours with tastings in O Rosal.
