About the winery
Bodegas Tradición occupies an old winery building in the historic centre of Jerez de la Frontera, within the Jerez-Xérès-Sherry D.O. Joaquín Rivero refounded it in 1998 on the legacy of Bodegas CZ, a house dating back to 1650, and from the start it focused on very old wines from ancient soleras. Today it is chaired by his daughter, Helena Rivero. It produces sherries certified as VOS and VORS, as well as a fino and Brandy de Jerez. The winery also houses a gallery of Spanish painting from the 14th to the 19th centuries, with works by Goya, Velázquez, Zurbarán and Sorolla. The guided visit covers the winery and the collection and ends with a tasting of VORS, VOS and fino; tailor-made private visits are also available.
