About the winery
Celler Solano de Menorca is the winery behind the Sa Forana wines, on the lane of the same name in Sant Climent, in the south of Menorca, within the Isla de Menorca vino de la tierra. The project was launched in 2003 by brothers Carles and Xavier Solano, linked to the island since the seventies, and the next generation has since joined them. They farm some 3.3 hectares on the estate and manage another 4 nearby, with Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Ull de Llebre and Syrah among the reds, and Premsal Blanc and Chardonnay among the whites. They released their first wine in 2008 and make four: the young 600 Metros, white and red, and the barrel-aged Sa Forana wines, which seek the minerality of the limestone soil near the sea.
