About the winery
Fento Wines is a family project founded in 2012, based in Ribadumia in the D.O. Rías Baixas, with Eulogio Pomares as winemaker. It is committed to natural viticulture and native varieties, with the support of small growers and spontaneous cover crops between the vines. In Galicia its vineyards are in the Condado do Tea, pergola-trained on xabre soils, the local weathered granite, with Albariño, Treixadura, Loureiro, Godello and Torrontés for whites and Sousón, Espadeiro and Pedral for reds. It also makes wine in Portugal's Dão with grapes from Quinta da Pellada. Harvesting is by hand, and ageing and malolactic fermentation are decided each year according to the vintage. Its wines are Fento, Fento Tinto, La Liebre y la Tortuga, Bico da Ran, Xabre and La Galaxia.
