About the winery
Eulogio Gondar Galiñanes created Lagar de Candes in 2003, at the age of 36. He says he had always liked the world of viticulture and that, some years after getting married, he began planting and took the plunge with the project. He says, laughing, that his wife wanted to build a house on the plot where the Lagar de Candes vineyard now stands, in A Barrosa, Portonovo, but that little by little he began planting one vine and then another, and so on until he “ruined the plan” for his wife.
