About the winery

Mar Sacro is the company behind the Montesacro winery in Sisán, Ribadumia, in the heart of the Salnés and within the Rías Baixas D.O. Its origins lie with José Antonio Trigo, who started out as a seafood middleman and ended up buying his first Albariño estate high up in the valley. Montesacro was born in 1975 as an artisan winery selling to local restaurants, and by the mid-nineties its wines could be found across much of Spain. Today it combines traditional winemaking with modern techniques, monitoring each plot and using cold-controlled fermentation. Its range of Albariños includes Montesacro Selección, Montesacro Cepas Vellas, Montesacro NOR and Woman.
