Pazo a Capitana
About the winery
Located in Cambados, this beautiful manor house surrounded by vineyards dates from the early 15th century and is called “A Capitana” in honour of Doña Sofía Pérez Charlín, the last descendant of the famous Captain Don Severo Pérez Cardecid, born in this pazo in 1808. Pérez Cardecid made a name for himself on the island of Cuba, where he was aide to Captain General Don Valentín Cañedo and governor of Santiago de las Vegas, Sancti Spíritus and San Juan de los Remedios, a post he held justly, by then a Lieutenant Colonel.
