About the winery
Francisco is a man of letters turned winemaker. As a historian, he wrote his thesis on the importance of Treixadura in Ribeiro and discovered that the first wines exported to the United States came from his village and were made from Treixadura. A story worthy of a film (with a happy ending). Still amazed by this discovery, he decided to leave everything and return to restore the oenological prestige of that variety and of his village. The aim was to dignify Treixadura and move it away from the dreadful bulk wines produced industrially there.
