The Pazo de Almuiña (1665) is located in Arbo, at the foot of the Camino Real that linked southern Galicia with the interior of the peninsula. A few steps from the Pazo you can find remains of the Roman road and, in its courtyard, the only indoor hórreo (granary) in the world. Its unusual location is due to the particular use it was put to: it never stored cereals, but lampreys. Its name, “Al-münya”, of Arabic origin, means orchard, telling us of a past linked to agriculture.
