About the winery

Alonso Cuesta is a family winery in La Torre de Esteban Hambrán, in north-western Toledo, within the D.O.P. Méntrida. The family has been in wine for over a century: its first winery was set up in 1920 in a 16th-century palace, and in 2000 the Alonso Cuesta siblings modernised the facilities without giving up traditional practices such as punching down. Their vineyards in Camarena and La Torre are led by Garnacha, with vines over 70 years old, alongside Cabernet Sauvignon, Tempranillo, Syrah, Merlot, Petit Verdot, Verdejo and Sauvignon Blanc. They make La Garnacha de Lola in its Cuqueña and Mazalba versions, ¡Cállate!, Cuvée and Tres Amigos. They offer guided visits that go down to the palace cellars, and a special visit with a tasting of local cheeses and cured meats.
