Alouviño

◍ Lugo

About the winery

Alouviño is the project of two brothers raised in Monforte de Lemos, the capital of the Ribeira Sacra, who grew up watching their family work vineyards handed down generation after generation. From Proendos, in the municipality of Sober and within the D.O. Ribeira Sacra, they want to take that heritage to the world with a modern outlook. Their idea is single-plot wines: each special vineyard is vinified separately to show its soil, aspect and varieties, and the vines are tended by hand and sustainably. The range includes 22º, a young Mencía with a year in bottle; Serán, a young Godello; Ukiyo, a Mencía for ageing made in concrete tanks; Albarda, a single-plot Mencía aged in French oak; and Amor Tardío, from Garnacha Tintorera.
