Basileo wine comes from a vineyard that began bearing fruit in 2005 in the Palencia village of Herrera de Valdecañas, in the south-east of the province, which belongs to the Arlanza D.O. It covers 10 ha of vineyards which, apart from 6,000 square metres of Merlot, are all Tempranillo. The characteristics of the clay and limestone soil, the climate with large temperature swings and constant sunshine, and the meticulous care in all tasks, subject to rigorous quality controls, give Basileo distinctive nuances.
