Palencia is organised into two worlds: the Cerrato, where the rosés and clarets of Cigales appear near Dueñas, and the Montaña Palentina, cradle of Romanesque art. For visiting wineries it is best to set up base in the provincial capital or in southern villages such as Baltanás.
