About the winery
Can Leandro is a small family winery in Ontinyent, a town in inland Valencia, within the D.O. Valencia. It is run by young winegrowers and winemakers who have revived their family's winemaking history with a clear aim: to champion nearly vanished native varieties and the identity of the landscape. They grow Monastrell, Bonicaire and Merseguera on very chalky soils, sands and white albariza earth over a limestone crust, respecting the environment and intervening as little as possible in the cellar. They classify their wines by origin: Les Finques as a village wine, La Lloma and La Vella as estate wines, L'Arenal and Panxut as site wines, and Alt de les Flors as a single-plot wine.
