About the winery
Bodega Esteban-Araujo, a family business with a winemaking tradition dating back to the early 19th century, revived that tradition in 2002 by restoring the old winery where it makes its wines under the «El Monjío» brand. The winery is located in one of the two winery quarters in Torquemada, which date from the 16th century. Today it is the only winery in the municipality that makes and sells wine under the Arlanza Denominación de Origen in this type of cellar.
