About the winery
Bodega Galmés i Ferrer is a family winery on Carrer Barracar Alt, on the outskirts of Petra, in the Pla de Mallorca. Its origins go back to the 1930s, when the founding grandfather made wine sporadically; full-time dedication came with his son, Guillem Galmés, and in the 2000s the winery modernised its facilities and launched new lines. Today it is run by winemaker Arnau Galmés. It works with native varieties such as Gorgollassa, Mantonegro, Callet, Giró Ros and Premsal, alongside others such as Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Viognier and Sauvignon Blanc. It makes whites, rosés and reds, such as Es Pujol de Maria or the rosé Rosat de Cor, and for more than fifty years has made altar wine for churches on the island. Visits are by appointment.
