About the winery
Bodegas Insulares Tenerife is the district winery of Tacoronte, in the north of the island, founded in 1992 to make wine from grapes grown in Tenerife's vineyards. It brings together around a thousand member growers and all the grapes come from small family plots, which keeps the area's farming tradition alive. It works under the Tacoronte-Acentejo D.O. and the Islas Canarias D.O.P., always with native varieties, and its best-known brands are Viña Norte, Tágara, Brezal, Humboldt, Miradero and El Ancón, as well as spirits, liqueurs and vermouth. It offers guided tours of the facilities to learn about its history and winemaking, and guided tastings of its wines.
