About the winery
As a result of the Catholic Monarchs' Pragmatic Sanction of 1502, which expelled the Moriscos, descendants of the Muslim population converted to Christianity, a princess who was still a child, the daughter of a wealthy merchant who would eventually be named governor by the Caliph, remained in the area, hidden but protected by a Knight, after her parents died in the hard battles fought against the Christian troops of the Order.
