Bodega Padrón
About the winery
Bodega Padrón is a family project in El Pinar, on the island of El Hierro, within the El Hierro D.O. It began in 2002 making vino de pata for its own consumption and bottled under the designation for the first time in 2017. It farms about one and a half hectares between 600 and 900 metres above sea level, with ungrafted pre-phylloxera vines of Listán Blanco, Listán Negro, Vijariego, Baboso Blanco, Verdello and Moscatel de Alejandría, bush-trained for the oldest and trellised for the new plantings. It harvests by hand and ferments in stainless steel to respect the fruit. The range is short: Blanco Padrón, a dry white, Blanco Afrutado Padrón, a semi-sweet white, and Tinto Padrón, a young red from Listán Negro and Vijariego Negro.
