About the winery
In the Alt Penedès, one of the oldest farmhouses is Masía Casa Gran, in the village of Sant Joan Samora. The first mention of Sant Joan Samora in surviving texts dates from 1080, and of Masía Casa Gran from 1453. The farmhouse, first restored in the 16th century and set among its own vineyards, enjoys panoramic views of the Montserrat mountain. It is currently undergoing a new rehabilitation led by José Luis Vives Conde, an expert restorer of old Catalan houses.
