About the winery

Bodega Santa Catarina lies beside the Inca to Sencelles road, in inland Mallorca. It was founded in 1984 by Stellan Lundqvist, who set out to use the island's climate to make quality wines, and he was among the first to plant French varieties such as Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah and Chardonnay on a large scale. Today it combines those grapes with native ones: the Sta line includes single-varietal Manto Negro and Prensal under the D.O. Binissalem and Callet and Giro Ros as Vi de la Terra de Mallorca, alongside the Nguany and Surant blends. The visit starts in the vineyard, continues through the production hall and barrel room, and ends with a tasting and Mallorcan produce overlooking the Serra de Tramuntana. It also organises lunches in the vineyard and wine and olive oil pairings.
