About the winery
The winery of Victoria Torres Pecis is a century-old family winery in Fuencaliente, at the southern tip of La Palma, within the D.O. La Palma. It was formerly sold as Matías i Torres. Victoria learned the craft watching her father make wine and, since his death in 2015, has run the winery on her own. She works about 4.7 hectares spread over Llanos Negros, Tinizara, at over 1,300 metres, and the Las Machuqueras plot on the slopes of the San Antonio volcano, on picón volcanic soils. She farms organically and by hand malvasía aromática, sabro, negramoll, diego, listán blanco and albillo. She ferments with native yeasts, presses in an old lagar and ages in chestnut barrels. Her wines include Las Migas, Las Machuqueras, Sin Título and Negramoll.
