About the winery
Bodegas Alonso was set up to acquire the winemaking assets of Pedro Romero S.A.: a property with a total area of nearly one hectare in the centre of Sanlúcar de Barrameda, consisting of several halls ideal for ageing manzanilla and other wines of the D.O. Jerez-Xérès-Sherry. This property has been used for these purposes since the mid-19th century; in recent decades it has housed the ageing of the solera of the Aurora manzanilla (by Pedro Romero) and various soleras of oxidatively aged wines.
