About the winery
Bodegas Arúspide is in Valdepeñas, in the province of Ciudad Real, within the D.O. Valdepeñas. It was born in 1999, when a group of wine-loving friends bought an old winery, convinced that making good wine is a matter of passion. They champion carbonic maceration, which they use for both reds and whites, without giving up traditional winemaking and ageing in French oak. They work with Tempranillo, Airén, Chardonnay and Viognier in ranges such as Ágora, Autor and Landó, as well as Vuelta de Tuerca Viognier and Pura Savia Airén, fermented in clay jars on its skins from 45-year-old vines. The guided visit tours the facilities, from the carbonic maceration hall to the century-old cellar, with a tasting, and can be extended with a tasting course.
