Bodegas Coronado is a family winery in La Alberca de Záncara, in the La Mancha area of Cuenca, making wine under the I.G.P. Vinos de la Tierra de Castilla. It was born in 2002 from an idea of Casildo Coronado García and is now run by his sons: Raúl looks after the winery and Casildo the vineyards, all estate-owned and lying above 800 metres. They grow Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cencibel, Merlot and Petit Verdot for reds, and Sauvignon Blanc and Gewürztraminer for whites, harvesting at night or at dawn to keep the grapes cool. Their Charcón range includes Alegría and Diverso from Sauvignon Blanc, Aromas from Gewürztraminer and Elegancia from Petit Verdot, alongside Rafael Casildo and the sparkling Javier Coronado. They offer visits by appointment with a tour and a paired tasting.
