About the winery
Bodegas Daniel Fernández, also known as Adegas Daniel Fernández, is in Verín (Ourense), in the D.O. Monterrei. The project began in 2015, when the winery was acquired and named after Daniel Fernández in homage to the family legacy. It farms 6.5 hectares of its own vineyards in the valley, on varied soils of slate, schist, granite and sand, with Galician varieties: Godello, Treixadura, Albariño, Dona Branca and Mencía. Winemaking is led by Pablo Estévez. Its wines are Galván Godello, a white from Godello and Treixadura; Galván Mencía, with a short spell in French oak; and Golfiño, a white that brings together the house's four white grapes. Since 2020 it has been adapting its facilities to welcome visitors.
