About the winery
El Rebusco Bodegas is in Candelaria, in south-east Tenerife, within the D.O. Valle de Güímar. Behind it are two farming families with land in the uplands of Arafo and Candelaria, who for generations traded their potatoes and wine for fish from the coast. The brand was born in 2010, and in 2020 a new generation joined and enlarged the facilities. They make volcanic whites, rosés and reds, and also run the Bodega Submarina de Canarias, off El Porís in Arico, where wines from old trellised vines on the slopes of the Arafo volcano spend six months 18 metres under the sea. The visit, by booking, covers the estate and the winery and ends with a tasting paired with island products such as cheese, gofio and almogrote.
