Fil·loxera & Cía is a small winery in Fontanars dels Alforins, in the Clariano subzone of the D.O. Valencia, founded in 2011 by Joan Llobell, Pilar Esteve and José Ramón Domenech, three veterans of the Valencian wine world. The name plays on the pest that changed the history of the vineyard, just as this project changed their lives. They farm some 17 hectares, mostly bush vines and some over 60 years old, in Fontanars and in small plots in Villena, and they champion native varieties such as Arco and Ullet de Perdiu, alongside Valencí, Moscatel Romano, Verdil, Monastrell and Garnacha Tintorera. Their wines bear biblical or circus-inspired names: Beberás de la Copa de tu Hermana, Sentada sobre la Bestia, El Cordero y las Vírgenes and the La Mujer del Caballo series.
