Bodegas Isla

About the winery

Bodegas Isla is in Villarta de San Juan, on the south bank of the river Cigüela, within the La Mancha D.O. It was founded by Francisco Isla Molina in the late 19th century and his descendants have carried it on to this day. It has around 200 hectares of its own, mostly on the Monte Milla estate, with Tempranillo, Garnacha, Cabernet Sauvignon, Parellada, Garnacha Tintorera and Airén, and also manages grapes from local growers. Part of the production is organic. Its 19th-century buildings with wooden beams combine tradition with current technology, and it makes wines under the La Mancha D.O., Vino de la Tierra de Castilla and table wine, with brands such as Isla Oro and Hispavín.
