The origins of Bodegas “La Cigarrera” go back to 1758, when the prominent merchant Joseph Colóm Darbó, a native of Barcelona settled in Sanlúcar, leased some properties on Callejón del Truco, owned by the Discalced Mercedarians, where he would start a wine business. Some years later (1771) Joseph Colóm, together with his son Francisco de Paula Colóm Borrego, founded the company “Colóm y Compañía”, which brought together all his businesses.
