Bodegas La Inglesa is a family winery in Montilla, in D.O. Montilla-Moriles, devoted to Pedro Ximénez wines aged biologically and oxidatively. Its name comes from Luisa Rebecca Ward, the English second wife of Diego de Alvear y Ponce de León, who in 1807 built a neoclassical palace here surrounded by vineyards; rebuilt at the end of the 19th century after a fire, it served as headquarters of the Alvear winery. In 1968 it was acquired by the Doblas family, who began making wine in 1984 and whose grandson, Antonio Doblas Cuenca, has expanded the project. The fino is aged at the Lagar de las Feas, in Moriles, while the oldest wines rest in the mansion, such as an amontillado whose solera dates back to 1927. Its range includes solera fina, fino en rama, fino pasado, amontillado and palo cortado.
