About the winery

Bodegas Reconquista lies a few minutes from the centre of Ciudad Real, in the heart of Campo de Calatrava, an area of volcanic soils that shapes the character of its wines. It grew out of a project by a young team and belongs to Grupo PHI, a local company specialised in food liquid processing, which explains its strong focus on technology and research; technical direction is led by César Rivera, with Carmen Hidalgo as the winery's technical manager. It makes organic wines ranging from Tempranillo Reconquista and Riesling Airén Reconquista to the Lagynos range, which includes a volcanic-soil Riesling, as well as playful brands such as Bésame and the sparkling Abrázame. Its wine tourism includes a walk through the vineyard, the production hall and traditional, volcanic or food-pairing tastings.
