About the winery
The Lagar's activity began in 1959, when a group of local growers joined together to form the first wine-producing cooperative in the Montilla-Moriles area, the Cooperativa Vitivinícola Nuestra Señora de los Dolores. In the early 1970s, coinciding with strong industrial development and the arrival of new technologies in winemaking, most of the lagares in the countryside were abandoned and large industrial facilities were built in the town centre.
