Bodegas Lavalle

About the winery

Bodegas Lavalle is a family winery in Navaridas, a village in Rioja Alavesa with limestone soils and dry farming, within the D.O.Ca. Rioja. Its vineyards are spread between Navaridas, where most of them lie, Laguardia and Elciego. What sets it apart most is the age of its vines: some fourteen hectares are between fifty and a hundred years old, a heritage that is becoming rare in the area, while another six are younger. They work almost exclusively with Tempranillo, which makes up the bulk of the grapes, and devote the whole year to vineyard work and an unhurried winemaking process to turn the harvest into wine. It is a small house, focused on its own vines and on the character of Rioja Alavesa.
