About the winery
Our history goes back to the early twentieth century. The grandfathers Paulino López and Francisco López (grandfather Kiko), both growers, suffered the phylloxera plague. Grandfather Kiko used to tell how, after losing the vineyards, he planted his first vineyard in 1919 with American rootstocks, and in 1921 grafted it with cuttings he bought from some pruners from Santa Cruz de Retamar, who were returning from pruning in Aragón with a cart full of cuttings and told him it was Tinta Aragonesa. Today it is our oldest vineyard, of Garnacha Tinta.
