Bodegas Mainetes

◍ Albacete

About the winery

Mainetes is a wine tourism project in Fuente-Álamo, in the Albacete part of the Jumilla D.O., combining a winery, rural hotel and spa in the middle of its own vineyard. It farms around 35 low-yielding organic hectares on limestone soil in a continental climate, and makes the Crátera range of single-plot wines: Vital from Viura, Vivaz, a rosé from Syrah and Tempranillo, and reds such as Cautivador from Syrah, Mineral from Cabernet Sauvignon, Natural from Monastrell with native yeasts and Triunfal from Merlot. It offers a wine route with a visit to the winery and to an ethnographic and wine museum and a guided tasting with a tapa, as well as a restaurant, rooms and a 19th-century farmhouse for groups.
