Bodegas Mendieta is a family house in Alcázar de San Juan (Ciudad Real), in the heart of La Mancha, which has been making wine since 1900 and, later on, extra virgin olive oil too. Five generations have run it: Juan Antonio Guillermo Mendieta bought the estates that are still its base, and today his daughter Arancha Guillermo Mendieta carries the project forward. The first vines were planted at El Duquesillo, and today they also farm El Cuartillo, in Herencia, and Casa Sierra del Peral, in Membrilla, using organic farming. They have wineries in Alcázar de San Juan and Daimiel and make whites, reds and rosés from varieties such as Airén, Macabeo, Verdejo, Moscatel, Tempranillo, Graciano, Syrah and Garnacha.
